Keep up to date - Your annual benefit statement
At a glance
To help you keep track of the value of your pension, each year you’ll receive an update about your benefits in the police pension scheme. This is called your annual benefit statement (ABS), or if you are affected by remedy, your annual benefit statement / remediable service statement (ABS RSS).
If you have deferred benefits in the scheme, you will also receive an annual benefit statement.

When to expect your statement
Statements are issued to members by 31st August each year. This will either be sent to you by post or you will be able to view your statement through the online portal. You will need to register to access the portal via your administrator’s website.

Important points to review
Key things that you can see in your statement:
- Value of your benefits at the statement date (31st March each year) –a snapshot of the pension you had built up in the Police Pension Scheme by 31st March, based on your membership and service up to that date
- What you could get in retirement – an illustration of benefits at your normal pension age (age 60). You could retire before age 60 but your benefits would be reduced to reflect taking your pension for longer. - Death benefits – details of what your beneficiaries might get when you die including any death in service lump sum that may be payable.
