You are in the
1987 scheme

Deferred members

Your benefits at retirement

If you were in the 1987 scheme for at least two years and then opted out or left the force, the benefits you built up will be deferred.

This means that they will stay in the scheme until you take them at age 60. They are increased in line with the consumer prices index to ensure they keep up with inflation.
Deferred benefits can be taken from age 60.

Deferred pensions can be taken earlier if you become ill and can no longer work as a police officer.
