McCloud calculator removed from NPCC website

The McCloud calculator has been removed from the NPCC website.

The calculator was originally developed to help members understand their potential options under the McCloud remedy before receiving their Annual Benefit Statement - Remediable Service Statement (ABS-RSS). As most members have now received their statement, the calculator has fulfilled its original purpose.

NPCC recognises that some members valued the calculator and may be disappointed that it has been withdrawn. However, recent changes to actuarial factors mean that it can no longer provide reliable illustrations without substantial redevelopment. Members are now encouraged to use the tools and support available on this website or through their pension administrator, which are based on their individual pension record and can provide more accurate and personalised information.

Updating the calculator to reflect the latest actuarial factors would require significant investment and ongoing maintenance. NPCC believes that members are better served by the tools and information provided by their pension administrator, such as member portals and online calculators linked directly to their pension record. These services can provide more accurate information than a standalone calculator that relies on members entering their own data.
